Gearing Up for Halloween!

by Amy Draughon

My costume making list is long this year!

I finally went fabric shopping the other night...now the fun part begins: sewing!

The biggest project on my plate is making dresses for my friends and I. Here's all the fabric. Any guesses what the theme is?

That's right! We decided on the Unofficial "princesses" of Disney. Specifically:

  • Megara (Hercules),
  • Wendy (Peter Pan),
  • Jane (Tarzan),
  • Giselle (Enchanted),
  • Alice (Alice and Wonderland)
  • Kuzco (The Emperor's New Groove)

We were the actual Disney Princesses last year, but we couldn't get enough of that Disney magic! I'm very excited to be Meg - mostly for the hair ;)

The Disney girls are just for the Halloween Dance at my church this Saturday. We can't wait to walk in wearing our costumes!

Coincidentally, this week is also Spirit Week for homecoming at the high school, which means...more costumes!

Luckily my TARDIS outfit for "character day" (coupled with my friends as the Ninth Doctor and Rose) will double on Halloween when my younger brother dresses as the Tenth Doctor.

Last but not least, my little brother needs a vampire cape. He insists everyday that we get started.

Well, he's right. I better get back to the sewing machine!

Look out for more in-depth posts on each costume soon!
